With cooperation from a professional architect, Committee Chairmen Devin was able to finish the first draft of the proposed layout for the solar carport. The current estimate of the surface area is 205,600 square feet, initially we projected the adequate coverage of our lot would produce two megawatts but recent estimates show that we can theoretically generate more then two megawatts with this design. The next draft will contain a hand drawn street view of what the solar carport would look like. We're going to discuss possible future drafts for the purposes of a street view with the assistance of the professional who rendered our first draft.
The Solar Carport Project is about convincing the college to construct a solar panel covered parking lot that would provide shade for both student and faculty cars. This would also be able to generate approximatly two megawatts of energy to completely sustain the campus.
